JIRS planned a student’s trip to West Sikkim from 15th July to 22nd July from Bangalore to Bagdogra consisting of 33 students. The trip was in association with “ENVIRO TRIP” the professional Duke of Edinburgh Team.
Sikkim is an amazing nature bounty in abundance. The high mountain terrain & trekking experience in Sikkim was a life time experience with temperature ranging from a high of 380C to a very low temperature of 80C and very challenging mountain trekking.
This extraordinary trip was filled with a wide range of experiences from a small village Rinchenpong to Farm House stays, Community Service, Farming, Monastery, Interaction with Tribes, Monks and Local people. The children then witnessed majestic Kanchenjunga mountains range with a fascinating clear view. We were fortunate to travel to The Indian Chinese border from Gangtok to Nathula Pass a very sensitive defence area at a height of 14,140 ft.
It was indeed an LIFE LEARNING EXPERIENCE for all.
