Jain International Residential School hosted its first Model United Nation 2016 in its History which was like a dream come true for us. It started with CEO SIR addressing the Morning Assembly and declaring the INTRA-MUN 2016 open officially.

 JIRS participated in a MUN for the first time in 2015,in various  prestigious MUN across the country and internationally . Since then, it has always been a dream of the Management, Teachers and the Students of JIRS to host the Event in the school.

 After much planning and preparation, we started off with an Intra-School MUN in the November 9th and 10th 2016 to give the students a picture of how it works and also to know our own strengths and weaknesses while hosting a MUN, so that we have a flawless Mega Event in January 2017.  

Intra-school MUN had 3 Committee and about 40 delegates in each Committee.

The Three Committee :-

   1. World Health Organization (WHO)

- -Chair -         Mayank Dugar

- -Vice-Chair - Aman Raaj Verma

   2. Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC)

- -Chair -          Kehan Vohra

- -Vice-Chair - Swetank Poddar

    3. Human Rights Council (HRC)

--Chair -           Roshan Agarwal

--Vice-Chair  - Pranav Shaji Nair

  In the JIRS MUN, though many were first-timers, their performance was extraordinary. Before the Conference, the delegates were taught the formal procedure and the workings of a MUN, including the various 'points'  and 'motions' by the experience MUNNer’s of JIRS.

 In a span of two days, we saw heated discussions among the Delegates, with proper Claims, Counter-Claims, and Statistical Data. The level of enthusiasm and confidence in the participants was unbelievable. We saw students from all grades and Curriculums come together and discuss thoroughly on the topic. We have been to several Intra-School MUNs and we can clearly tell that the quality of the debate in each Committee was no less than an Intra-School MUN. By the end of the Third day, each Committee saw Blocs being formed and Resolution Paper being presented by each bloc. At least one Resolution was passed by each Committee.

In all the students  understood the procedure of this formal event ,shaping them with more confidence, zeal , critical thinking and Master the Art of DIPLOMACY!!

We thank the school administration and the teachers- in- charge for having belief in us and their constant support in us.

 With such a wonderful start, we look forward to hosting a successful Inter-School MUN in January 2017.

CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL –MUN 2016

CIS-MUN 2016

On 11^th and 12^th November 2016,five students from JAIN INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL SCHOOLS attended the CIS-MUN 2016 to present their expertise in debate, in-depth knowledge and their overflowing strength in DIPLOMACY.

The two day conference allowed the five enthusiastic students -distributed in various strong and competitive committees-to debate and lead different blocks.

The now experienced MUNNer’s from JIRS presented resolutions with clauses in various committees and successfully lead in their field.

The confidence and zeal in them allowed all the five delegates to grab awards,giving JIRS a rare 100% victory.

Jain International Residential school has surely left a bench mark at Canadian International –MUN 2016.
