Parikrma Festival of Science 2017
Soil and Agriculture
Students of JIRS participated in the parikrma
festival of science 2017 from 14 to 16th of February held in
Jawaharlal Nehru centre for research.
Theme was: Soil and Agriculture”.
Our students got an opportunity to do
interesting experiments like soil testing, organic farming.
They visited a village Mandi, Listened to
eminent scientist.
They also presented a live case in the
Hackathon and mock parliament representing various states of the country.
Students got a lifetime opportunity to meet
three eminent personalities on the first day itself. Bharat Ratna Prof.C.N.R .Rao,
Prof Richard Zare Stanford university USA & Ms Audray Kitagawa from New
York ,a special advisor to the world federation of united nations Associations.
Our students visited nearby organic farm to
understand sustainable agriculture & its importance.
Students of various schools presented a live
case in the Hackathon & eventually learnt the problems faced by the farmers
in the Agriculture & selling their products.
In mock parliament, each student represented
the different states & presented a budget infornt of the speaker Prof.M.V
Rajeev Gowda Member of Parliament.
In these three days they made new friends
that cut across all economic & social sections and realised that in science
every stream is inter connected & so also in life.
Two students of JIRS got 1st prize for the group for presenting live case in the Hackathon
and mock parliament.
