Raksha Bandhan Celebration:
Relationships are the essence of any festivity and it holds
true for any Indian festival. The name 'Raksha Bandhan' means a bond of
protection which holds a great emotional and religious significance and
exhibits the beautiful relationship of love, care, and affection between
siblings. On the day of Raksha Bandhan, sisters tie the silk thread called
Rakhi on their brother's wrist and pray for their well-being. JIRS children
celebrated the festival with great enthusiasm on 26 August 2018.
The Colosseum was bedecked for the occasion. The staff made
creative rangolis and decorated thalis using different designs. The entire
ambiance at the celebration space was filled with beautiful songs. The boys
were eagerly waiting for their turn to get the Rakhi tied on to their wrist.
All the girls dressed up in their traditional costumes tied Rakhi to all the
boys present there, while boys pledged to take care of them and offered gifts
and sweets thus making the celebration more meaningful.
