JAIN INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL
CATHEDRAL MODEL UNITED NATION 2018
August 9th 2018 one of the most waited
day, that day the students of CMUN’18 people left for Mumbai.
Delegates of 20 Children were confident and
had done rigorous research. They underwent two days of rigorous PRESS SESSION
by the seniors of the school. The children were disciplined and were always in
the zone of RESEARCH and DISCUSSING agendas. It was excellent to see each
delegate ready to face the CONFERENCE.
This group of children were enthusiastic
and ready to face any challenges thrown to them.

I was honoured and privileged to attend the
22nd edition of C-MUN (2018), Mumbai. It was a learning experience
for each one of us. Our esteemed institution, Jain International had provided
us with rigorous research and how to go on with MUN during our tight schedule
and gave us this opportunity to go to this prestigious MUN. After attending a
lot of MUNs, I believe that we are the future generations who have to take up
and deal with global situations concerning all the countries of the world.

The 2018 22nd Cathedral MUN held
in Mumbai was an amazing and interesting experience. A lot was learnt about
different in the committee and we also learnt how to present ourselves in a
better manner. In addition to that we learnt plenty about oration skills. This
was one of the biggest MUN’s in Asia it was a great opportunity. The people
over at CMUN were very hospitable and helpful. The delegates researched very
well and helped us to improve our MUN experience. We understood what areas we
needed to improve and will put that into action next time.

Cathedral Model United Nations is the
platform to represent our oratory skills and was the best place to gain
knowledge and experience and that was what we accomplished. The committee had
huge discussion about the current world affairs and it was an intriguing
debate. We learnt a lot from the committee Interpol. All over it was a
wonderful experience to improve our MUN skills.

Mumbai, the city of dreams was full of
hustle the logistic members of CMUN assisted us stayed with us from the airport
till we got our room keys, what fun would it be if we didn’t walk through the
busy city along Marine Drive? The rest of the night was ours, it was essential
to prepare ourselves for the next big day. For the next three days we walked to
Samrat the restaurant which served delicious Indian cuisine.
After days of preparation August 10th
finally approached. CMUN was being held over the next three days from August 10th-12thand
had a regular schedule of a general MUN programme. Three committees had
midnight crisis on the first night till 3:30. The committee itself was
interesting and motivating.
CMUN has taught me a lot of things. India has
the largest democracy area with more than 1 billion people and an economy
expanding faster than China has rewards that is far from evenly shared. It made
me realise that the UN is not perfect as well. There was a lot of learning
going on over the course of four days that we were not in school. It was an
amazing experience for which each one of us is always grateful

Cathedral Model United Nations was the best
way to improve our oratory skills. We learned a lot from it. The managing team
was very hospitable and managed it well. There was a huge discussion about
world affairs and learnt a lot from everybody. Everyone had come prepared with
a good amount of research done respectively for their country. However, there
was a lot of recognition problem in the committee and paper work was more than
the debates going on. Even though we gained a lot of experience and a lot of
knowledge as well.

My first C-MUN experience was an
exhilarating one. It has given me a chance to gain knowledge about the not so
bright side of the current world affairs. I’m glad to say that I was a part of
a committee that was working towards a committee finding viable solutions of
war and the crimes committed during war, the “asserting and punishing war
crimes in Afghanistan and Prevention of the same” Afghanistan has been through
countless number of wars and innocent civilians and others have been victims
because of the ongoing war. Being able to work with my fellow delegates to come
up with solutions and strategies to work through this problem had particularly
given me a learning experience. The three-day session were filled with crisis
and updates on updates which engaged most of us to push ourselves even more.
With crisis like Taliban gaining 40% of the votes and its head of state asking
for a place in the United Nations to India, being backed by the USA who is
carrying out surgical strikes in the Indo-Pak border, the committee could not
have received more enthusiasm and the readiness to fight such crisis from the
delegates. All-in-all, the three days have given each everyone of us to hone
our skills in debating and had given us an opportunity to show that, we as
youngsters are very much capable of becoming world leaders one day.
