Jain International Residential School
STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME - AUSTRALIA
Date:4 - 14 - FEB - 2017
A Group of 12 children arrived at MELBOURNE, Australia
at KALINDA PRIMARY SCHOOL. The children were first introduced to their host
families. With little nervousness and quivering of words the children went with
them and were to stay for the next 8 days. All of them were welcomed with open
arms.
The first day started with the children attending the
assembly at KALINDA PRIMARY SCHOOL. The children of grade 5th to 7th
attended classes at KALINDA PRIMARY SCHOOL and students of 8th to 11th
attended RINGWOOD SECONDARY school.
Over a period of five days they enriched themselves
with the education pattern of both the schools by attending various classes and
classes on performance art too. There were lot of ideas, morals and values
which were shared.
The children gelled so well with their individual host
families, it was interesting to see and here to their exciting stories....from
cooking Indian dishes for their host families and learning different baking,
cutting vegetables and being equipped to do their own work. It was truly an
exchange programme with holistic learning.
Goodbyes are never easy... it was sad to see the
children of both the countries sharing same emotions of not letting go of each
other....it was mixed feeling to see their tearful farewell.
All in all THE JIRS children came back with lot of
sweet memories and learning.
